Colourism is based against dark skin tone as we all know , that views white skin as the ultimate ideal. Its so wide that over 90% of Indian women subscribe to skin lighting as a high need area.

And guess who is profiting the most??

10billion dollar fairness industry. So what’s the deal with colourism??

Where did it start?

In ancient India black was the new black. However the idea that white is pure and therefore myth of superiority was started by Aryans… permeated by the British and spread through globalisation and the media.

This cemented our obsession with fair skin. Today everyone from our family to celebrities tell you that you won’t be able to get married if you are not fairer don’t find a job and physically combust if you are dark.

We have been conditioned to believe this so people are willing to try almost anything for that “nikhri tuacha”.

Whats the actual cost of colourism?

HOME REMEDIES

Like charity, colourism begins at home itself. Dadi ji encourages you to put a weeks worth of groceries on your face to make you feel like light bulb.

FAIRNESS CREAMS

The kinda cocktail you would never want to order. Fairness creams are filled with dangerous steroids and mercury and long term use may cause permanent pigmentation, liver damage and also skin cancer.

These products are banded from many countries but India continues to look bright using it may be…

Soooo… fair and lovely = unfair and not at all lovely….

SPA AND POLOUR

Spa and polours are the same use expensive products on your skin with can almost peel off your skin or burn it and name it as “Kashmir ki kalli” is a total waste , and here you end being broke for years and without food may be. Most of these treatment won’t alter you skin tone for that you have to alter your DNA. All those post facial look may feel real but its mostly phycological.

DOCTORS AND CLINICS

You can zap your face with laser get it peeled and inject yourself with un pronounceable vitamins…All of which target the melanin in your skin and can cause a lot of health problems coz of drugs…

I hope you liked it share your views on colourism on the comment section bellow.

BE a SLOUCHY CHICK

Oversized, deconstructed and antifit comfort wear being slouchy was never ever trendy as of now it is, slouchy chick trend is an artful blend of oversized and fitted pieces.

yeh that’s me in case you don’t know lol…

HOW LOOK SLOUCHY??

  1. An oversized shirt pair it with skinny jeans tuck the shirt in & hear you go…

2. striped shirts or tops gives you that slouchy vibe. take a simple jumper or t-shirt that is one size larger than you wear and pair it with any fit bottoms.

3. If its a work place you can wear it with a fitted blouse… just pair it with polished shoes or heels.

Slouchy style is associated with oversized clothes… I sometimes go for my dads shirts when I’m too bored of my own clothes.May be two or more size bigger than your regular size gives you that comfort and that cool look…its all about comfort and proportion.

Yeh many of you may think slouchy means ‘sloppy’ …then you are wrong. It have its own rule or way of executing not only in tops and shirts you can pick up anything slouchy like bottoms, jackets etc , must not make you look frumpy but make you feel comfortable and look cool.

I hope you like this and try this look out… share me your ideas or comments on the comment section below or you can dm me on insta.

LETS TALK ABOUT HOME SWEET HOME

DECOR TREND

Furniture is the basic need of all and making it creative makes it more better. In different areas or parts of the world and over centuries we find different type and pattern of furniture with its own uniqueness.

Hear are some old home trends that’s making a good comeback on 2019

Whatever the fashion is may it be clothing or some kinda new haircut, turns out that this is a cyclic trends happens in the world of decor and interior designing as well ,but a little less obvious coz whatever comes on trend in this field happens to stay for a longer period of time, unlike fashion which probably change everyday.

WICKER FURNITURE

It was introduced in 1620 in America and was their till 1930’s the Victorian era.It had a revival on 60’s and 70’s again. I remember my grands had them on their house, it was really light and comfortable and affordable too. Making or using of this furniture are still their and practiced on urban side of India.

Pastels

Its a huge trend on 80’s.Today pastel hues don’t come off as ab noxious or dated but yet unique.

HOUSE PLANTS

This are wonderful and was very popular in 70’s. Its more like filling the home with oxygen glory and also works as air purifier. Living in a cozy room with plants gives a wonderful feeling from inside.

According to a research house plants do more than just add a touch of nature to your space. Those who spend time on a room with plants rated themselves are more confident and energized compared to those of others.

Wood paneling

This is one of my favorite and i’m sure everyone loves it too. It was started on 1960’s grabbing the idea from the houses on hill station. It is largely practiced their because wood helps to maintain the temperature inside the house. And also gives a classy look to your home.

TIME TO SWITCH

The monthly subscription that’s flooding women when it inboxes since puberty. Discussions arround how to deal with periods are moving slowly, blowing sanitary pad s to clean alternatives like mensural cup.
Although its available for a long time now since 1937 i.e. before independence, when Indian woman where not even aware of of sanitary pads ….

Women in India are still suspicious about the menstrual cup.

SO CUP OR NOT CUP ???

THE QUESTIONS WHICH ARISE…

1> DOES IT HURT?
No; I know pain is a big concern but the cup is made of medical silicon and its soft. You just need to fold it and insert it right their cervix. If you cant go die virgin.
Ones its inside it opens up and stays in place for suction. Then you have to pinch, twist and pull it out.
The process can be a bit tricky at first, afterwards it become simple.

2> IS IT HYGIENIC??
Of course, No matter how harder you try changing pads in a public washroom, it will sound like a shark creeping into plastic bag.
But with a cup. its Sterth. Just remove it wash it with water and place it back in. It can be used for 10-12hrs on average.
at the end of your cycle just boil it in water to sanetice it and some cups can be used again for 5 to 10yrs. Isn’t it lot more cheaper than buying like millions of pad every month and you don’t need to move around with a funky smell all the time.

3>WHERE DO I GET IT?
I know theirs hardly any ads for the cups. Mensural cups come in different sizes just like your bra. Since pharmacy don’t have them you can buy them online.
Brands like :-
1. Boondh
2.She cup
3.Diva cup
Cost around Rs.500- 4000.
Its comfortable and its Eco friendly.

JUST GO WITH IT…

FASHION +ARCHITECTURE

Fashion designers shape our body transforming flat cloths into living architectural dimensions.

An architect sculpts textures and patterns and renders his buildings into pics of art than just a satiation of a need like fashion, architecture or emotion.

We often choose to wear clothes according to the surroundings which includes architecture, monuments, buildings and also the environment set up by the population there.
Not only the environmental aspect but their are other reasons as well like:-
ART
MEASUREMENTS
MATH
GEOMETRY
CREATIVITY
STYLE
COLORS
EMOTION
BEAUTY

So this is how i feel that fashion and architecture is related to each other…

FASHION CANNOT BE CREATED IN ISOLATION

The relationship between architecture and fashion fields have received many studies. Some researches have considered them as parallel worlds, while others have proven that the link is an interrelationship. Generally, architecture and fashion have many common sources: art, science, and technology. This makes them sometimes close worlds, and in many other cases, they are mixed. However, it is wise to assume that the best situation when one field becomes a source to another, and they support each other within a logical visible relationship. Architecture gives inspiration to fashion, per contra fashion achieves notability for an architectural figure or element.

Zaha Hadid’s signature brand of fluid, sweeping lines that characterised her gravity-defying buildings redefined the principles of monumentalism. And although the ‘Queen of the Curve’ was lauded for her architectural innovation, her vision also extended to the body.
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that the ‘starchitect’ managed to carve a niche for herself in the fashion world—from undertaking an art project for Chanel to jewellery and footwear for brands like Adidas, Louis Vuitton, Swarovski, Georg Jensen and Melissa, among others.

Fashion and architecture will always merge in a dramatio silhouette a controlled volume and graphic live

1950’ trends back on the floor again…

Something has changed in contemporary culture. The focus for  fashion now has shifted from the future to the past. This is tells us  ,the 1950s taking up a lot of space in today’s fashion trends.    Even though they genuinely love the style…The women’s fashion  and the macho style, for instance, are pushed to extreme.

      Retro is a new phenomenon

Kristian Handberg is one of the first researchers in the world to look into this sudden  urge to revive the music and fashions of the past.    Fifteen years ago, the Swinging Sixties were in style. Then came the 1980s and kitsch.  Today people decorate their homes with 1950s furniture.    The most dedicated of retro fashionistas even spend their spare time on the rockabilly  scene, where men swear by sleeveless shirts, sideburns and hair gel, women wear  bright red lipstick, dresses and updos, and everyone dances to music from the  American South of 1954.     “The retro phenomenon only materialised a few decades ago,” says Handberg. “The  term ‘retro’ emerged in the late ’70s and didn’t enter the mainstream vocabulary until  around 1990.”

  ACCORDING TO ELLE AUSTRALIA

Runway and the odd celeb showing, have confirmed one of our long-standing suspicions: the ’50s are back in fashion.
Whether it’s the long-awaited return of the vintage poodle skirt, or Balenciaga heralding the revival of the gingham overcoat, several ’50s staples have made their way from the history books onto the runways.
Designers including Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen and Calvin Klein have helped to kickstart the revival, sending hand-embroidered fit-and-flares, cropped merino sweaters, and Swiss Rebel
-inspired back-combed quiffs down the runway to pique our interest.
Celebrities also had a hand in re-establishing the trend. Miley Cyrus, stepping away from her wilder Bangerz
phase, has gone swiftly down the path of ’50s rockabilly to promote Younger Now
. Sporting barrel-curl buns and diner-cowboy get-ups, her Younger Now
video clip is built around a swinging ’50s vibe.
Serena Williams also eschewed modern fashion to embrace the ’50s for her baby shower in 2017. The ’50s-themed shower included an avalanche of poodle skirts, cropped shirts, bandana-wrapped updos and red lips.
So it comes as no surprise that we’ll be welcoming it back into our wardrobes for the new season. Here, seven ’50s trends you’llbe seeing in every diner and milk bar very, very soon.

     TRENDS WHICH CAME UP

POODLE SKIRTS

Midi lengths, wrapped styles and iterations with splits up to there have dominated trends in 2018, a ’50s revival will mark the rise of the poodle skirt. Often in pink or powder blue, poodle skirts were swing skirts made to flare out around the knees. Modern takes, from Calvin Klein, Molly Goddard and Hailwood, focus more on solid colours and fanciful pleats.

CARDIGANS

The cardigan with open arms. But that iteration of the knitted staple—most often in a longer shape, with a slightly slounchy feel in them. The cardis are back to their original fine form cropped, bright and wornt the shoulders.

POLKA DOTS

It’s the big hit now. polka dots reigned supremefrom black and white, to red and blue, dots were the spot du jour. Nowdays, they’re blown out and all over.

Thats all for today…

Hope you like it.

Festive season #18

Hey guys, I’m back…

As the festive season has almost arrived, the first question that strikes most of us is about the ethnic outfit.

I know of many people who aren’t into ethnic that much; however, ethnic wardrobes form an integral part of Indian festivals.

Here are some ideas which I came up with, which are not really ethnic or western but give an ethnic essence.

OUTFIT 1

Snapchat-1564233260

I have this shrug kind of thing, which I bought from Max. I find this dress really cool because of the embroidery on it, which gives it an ethnic look. Furthermore, I can easily pair it up with my ripped jeans and wear it to temples, during pujas, etc.

OUTFIT 2

I love this outfit, and I am surely going to get this soon for myself. I found this on Pinterest a month ago, and I was just waiting for the right time to share this. A simple white shirt with a bright coloured dhoti pant. If you don’,t have dhoti pant you can wear it with bright colour palazzo pants (even printed palazzos will suit this).

You can also pair it up with lehenga skirt or a wrapper with heavy jewelry, like Anushka Sharma in the song “Cutiepie” from the movie “Ae Dil Hai Muskil”. I loved the way she was wearing the outfit with the necklace, which was perfect.

OUTFIT 3

This outfit is totally my type of outfit; I usually wear this outfit in my college. I find this really comfortable and easy to carry, specially for summers.

OUTFIT 4

This is by far the prettiest dress in this list. I bought this from Max again, because I feel Max is the best place to shop for this kind of Indo-Western looks.

In addition to these, I have this really pretty and simple dress, which easily gives you an ethnic look. This is evident by looking at this girl, who paired it up with white sneakers for a really cool look. You can also pair it up with heels or boots if you want to; bangles and heavy earnings will be more glamorous for this festive season.

That’s all for today… Hope you like it.

Let me know your favorite ones in the comment section.

food lover

Apart from leading a healthy life, I also prefer to have  cheat days in between. Don’t you think ? its boring to lead your life in routine without any change in it.

I usually keep  four cheat-days a month. You may thing its too much but trust me its not. Food is a way to happiness ,what I feel to be honest, Because nothing can satisfy you as much as good food can.

I tend to make friends who are really fond of food and have the motive to spend money more on food rather than anything else. They are good to hangout with and generally  is dont deny to go out and  even have good idea about where to go and where not to for good food of course.

You can always take help of Zomato , and search for Italian restaurants around your places and please go through the ratings before you visit.

Hope you like it…
