1950’ trends back on the floor again…

Something has changed in contemporary culture. The focus for  fashion now has shifted from the future to the past. This is tells us  ,the 1950s taking up a lot of space in today’s fashion trends.    Even though they genuinely love the style…The women’s fashion  and the macho style, for instance, are pushed to extreme.

      Retro is a new phenomenon

Kristian Handberg is one of the first researchers in the world to look into this sudden  urge to revive the music and fashions of the past.    Fifteen years ago, the Swinging Sixties were in style. Then came the 1980s and kitsch.  Today people decorate their homes with 1950s furniture.    The most dedicated of retro fashionistas even spend their spare time on the rockabilly  scene, where men swear by sleeveless shirts, sideburns and hair gel, women wear  bright red lipstick, dresses and updos, and everyone dances to music from the  American South of 1954.     “The retro phenomenon only materialised a few decades ago,” says Handberg. “The  term ‘retro’ emerged in the late ’70s and didn’t enter the mainstream vocabulary until  around 1990.”

  ACCORDING TO ELLE AUSTRALIA

Runway and the odd celeb showing, have confirmed one of our long-standing suspicions: the ’50s are back in fashion.
Whether it’s the long-awaited return of the vintage poodle skirt, or Balenciaga heralding the revival of the gingham overcoat, several ’50s staples have made their way from the history books onto the runways.
Designers including Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen and Calvin Klein have helped to kickstart the revival, sending hand-embroidered fit-and-flares, cropped merino sweaters, and Swiss Rebel
-inspired back-combed quiffs down the runway to pique our interest.
Celebrities also had a hand in re-establishing the trend. Miley Cyrus, stepping away from her wilder Bangerz
phase, has gone swiftly down the path of ’50s rockabilly to promote Younger Now
. Sporting barrel-curl buns and diner-cowboy get-ups, her Younger Now
video clip is built around a swinging ’50s vibe.
Serena Williams also eschewed modern fashion to embrace the ’50s for her baby shower in 2017. The ’50s-themed shower included an avalanche of poodle skirts, cropped shirts, bandana-wrapped updos and red lips.
So it comes as no surprise that we’ll be welcoming it back into our wardrobes for the new season. Here, seven ’50s trends you’llbe seeing in every diner and milk bar very, very soon.

     TRENDS WHICH CAME UP

POODLE SKIRTS

Midi lengths, wrapped styles and iterations with splits up to there have dominated trends in 2018, a ’50s revival will mark the rise of the poodle skirt. Often in pink or powder blue, poodle skirts were swing skirts made to flare out around the knees. Modern takes, from Calvin Klein, Molly Goddard and Hailwood, focus more on solid colours and fanciful pleats.

CARDIGANS

The cardigan with open arms. But that iteration of the knitted staple—most often in a longer shape, with a slightly slounchy feel in them. The cardis are back to their original fine form cropped, bright and wornt the shoulders.

POLKA DOTS

It’s the big hit now. polka dots reigned supremefrom black and white, to red and blue, dots were the spot du jour. Nowdays, they’re blown out and all over.

Thats all for today…

Hope you like it.
